August 2023 cover page of The Astrological eMagazine

Dear Readers, welcome to the August 2023 edition of The Astrological eMagazine.

Our beloved senior editor, Raman Suprajarama, imparts his profound knowledge by translating the third chapter of the sacred Brihat Parashara Hora. In this issue, he explores the fascinating science of zodiac signs and uncovers the concealed meanings associated with each one. Parashara teaches us that the key to easily expressing the results of a horoscope lies in skillfully dissecting its components into smaller fragments. Raman Suprajarama simplifies the meaning of the verses and reveals the significance of each zodiac sign.

As we fellow astrologers keep a watch on the major transits every year, a notable transit this year is that of Rahu Ketu on the Pisces-Virgo Axis. After their transit on the Aries-Libra axis, they will retrograde into the Pisces and Virgo axis, on October 30, 2023. The last time that Rahu was in Pisces, and Ketu in Virgo happened 18 years ago (2005-2006). Our revered contributor Lalitha Donatella Riback thoroughly explains the different possibilities that will take place during this rare occurrence with examples of some famous personalities having such a transit in their horoscope.

Sadesati is a 7.5 years transit of Saturn that instils fear in people’s mind. Is this true? Professor Dr. N. S. Murthy explores the effects of Sadesati Shani - astrological principles, remedies, examples, puranic references and an analysis of Dr. B.V. Raman's horoscope in relation to Sadesati Shani.

Dr. Nemani Venkata Raghunatha Rao employs Nadi Astrology Principles in a two-part series to examine various life events of an individual who was born into an ordinary farming family but went on to achieve the esteemed position of Scientist "F" in a Government of India organization. The analysis delves into significant milestones such as education, marriage, first job, and even the birth of children.

The study of fingers encompasses their structure, shape, size, length, nails, skin patterns at the fingertips, and various other features. At times, fingers can reveal with certainty what the entire palm conceals, providing insights into a person's hidden character and potential health conditions, among other things. Fingers hold great significance in the field of palmistry, and they are traditionally named after the planets that represent their respective qualities. N. Chandrashekar delves into each finger, elucidating how it reflects specific characteristics and traits in an individual. If you have an interest in palmistry, this article serves as an excellent introductory guide.

In the monthly series titled "Vedic Astrology 101," Archna Murthy continues to provide insights into the significant role played by Varahamihira. As astrologers, we greatly admire Varahamihira, the revered deity of astrology. However, it is equally important to understand who inspired Varahamihira and the valuable contributions made by his predecessors. In this article, Archna Murthy reveals lesser-known information about the prominent figures who significantly influenced the field of Jyotish Shastram before Varahamihira's time. Join us on a historical journey of Vedic astrology, commencing from the 3rd century.

The term "psychic attack" refers to the phenomenon of energy being directed towards our subtle body, specifically our astral body. This energy projection can originate from lower astral entities like pretas or lower deities, who attempt to infiltrate the subtle bodies of humans for various purposes. One such purpose is when a person becomes the target of black magic hexing. Many astrologers frequently encounter clients who suspect they are under such hexes. This article aims to identify astrological combinations associated with these issues and provide potential remedial solutions. The author, Kaushik V Prasad, also addresses common myths and superstitions surrounding these problems. Additionally, the author presents powerful remedial measures to counteract the negative influences of any detrimental energies indicated in the horoscope.

The culmination of our magazine includes the customary monthly offerings, which entail prognostications tailored to your respective Moon sign, a comprehensive Ephemeris, and a meticulously curated Calendar for the upcoming month of July. As always, we warmly welcome your constructive thoughts and valuable feedback, and encourage you to communicate with us at info@astrologicalmagazine.com. Your opinions and suggestions are invaluable to us as we strive towards delivering the highest quality astrological content possible.

July 2023 cover page of The Astrological eMagazine

In May 2023, our esteemed Prime Minister, Shree Narendra Modi ji, inaugurated an event commemorating Indian accomplishments and self-reliance, signifying the successful culmination of the revitalization of Central Vista Avenue in New Delhi. The featured article by our revered Chief Editor, Bangalore Niranjan Babu, sheds light on the underlying energy behind India's New Parliament Building as per the principles of Vastu and Muhurtha. Jayanth Agasthya's piece on the same subject elaborates on how the propitious muhurta of the new Parliament House foretells both challenges and triumphs, with planetary alignments favoring success. It explores the influential placement of Saturn, offering a glimmer of hope for governments that uphold righteousness.

Archna Murthy's monthly series on Vedic Astrology 101 highlights the contributions of Varahamihira to the field of Vedic Astrology. She opines that Varahamihira’s impact was so profound that it divided the timeline of Jyothish Shastram into the periods before and after Varahamihira. Like a shooting star, his brilliance forever transformed this ancient science, leaving an enduring legacy in its wake. We are sure this read will inspire you of Varahamihira’s contributions and vision.

This issue presents the final installment of the series "Metamorphosis: How to Analyze Spiritual Transformation" by Dr. Nemani Venkata Raghunatha Rao, in which he examines the charts of highly spiritual individuals and explains the principles to consider in discerning the spiritual progression of an individual. While many of our clients seek guidance on earthly matters such as education, marriage, and other concerns, as learned astrologers, it is our additional duty to guide them towards the path of spiritual awakening.

Despite the changing times, certain life events such as marriage are best undertaken at the optimal moment. In predictive astrology, Kedar Nath Manapragada delves into the subject of understanding and delineating the time of marriage. He shares various methods used to determine the right time for marriage, discussing the importance of comprehending planetary influences and their corresponding dasa periods in determining the timing of events.

Advancing the exploration and intricacies of astrological houses, Professor N. S. Murthy introduces the 12th house, widely acknowledged as Vyayasthana. This house represents aspects such as loss, decline, isolation, liberation, Moksha (the ultimate state of emancipation), transcendence into the afterlife, and detachment. He elucidates the intricate interplay of various planetary configurations within this house and their profound ramifications on individuals.

In the realm of mundane astrology, Dr. Phaniraj M. Shastry reveals the celestial threats that we will witness in 2023. Through the study of various charts, he provides a list of countries that are likely to be affected by these celestial patterns. He opines that since the reminder of 2023 will witness two eclipses: a Solar Eclipse on October 14th and a Lunar Eclipse on October 28th, it is likely to contribute to disturbances and potentially fuel war situations. Remain vigilant and utilize this information for preventing or preparing for adverse situations.

June 2023 cover page of The Astrological eMagazine

As sentient beings, we undergo constant evolution, with old cells dying and new ones being created. Despite this inherent dynamism, we often exert significant effort in desiring stasis, yearning for a status quo. Interestingly, this inclination is not unique to us, as everything in the universe endeavors to attain a state of "equilibrium" – a condition characterized by stability, balance, absence of disruption, or simply put, peace. For humanity, equilibrium manifests as a state of intellectual or emotional harmony, a state of poised equilibrium. This publication delves into an array of astrological articles, encompassing the contribution of Jyothisha's pioneering figures, the special combinations in spiritual individuals, the horoscopic patterns of criminals, the realm of predictive astrology, and even the depths of mundane astrology.

Dr. S. Archna Murthy sheds light on the notable contributions of Aryabhatta and Bhaskara, esteemed Astro-Mathematicians within the realm of Siddhanta Jyothisha. Through her column, one will come to realize that many fundamental mathematical concepts including the Pythagorean theorem had already been discovered by Aryabhatta and Bhaskara centuries prior to their popularization and attribution to the Western world.

In the second installment of a comprehensive three-part series exploring the intricacies of analyzing spiritual transformation, Dr. Nemani Venkata Raghunatha Rao delves into the examination of example horoscopes belonging to profoundly enlightened souls like Swami Vivekananda, Paramhamsa Yogananda, Swami Sivananda, and Maharshi Arvind - Aurobindo Ghose. Through these case studies, Dr. Rao elucidates how the principles elucidated in the first part of the series unveil the secrets of spiritual metamorphosis through the lens of Jyothish.

Archit Saxena presents his comprehensive study, observations, and discoveries derived from analyzing the charts of criminals, specifically focusing on the most notorious among them: serial killers such as Ted Bundy, Richard Ramirez, Jeffrey Dahmer, and John Wayne Gacy. Saxena proposes methods to avert negative occurrences and redirect them toward positive outcomes. Through the exploration of Vedic Astrology, we aim to gain a deeper comprehension of the influence of these cosmic forces on our existence.

It is intriguing to note that individuals derive satisfaction from varied activities. Pursuing a career without experiencing job satisfaction can be a challenging endeavor. In the realm of predictive astrology, Dr. Akila S. Murthy delves into the exploration of how the lines on our hands can serve as a valuable guide in unraveling our hidden desires, talents, and aspirations. This journey of self-discovery has the potential to inspire and guide us towards personal fulfillment, ultimately paving the way for job or career satisfaction.

Within the realm of mundane astrology, Kohulen Sundaram presents an intriguing article titled "The Puzzling yet Perplexing Activation of Mahadasha and Antardasha." In this piece, Sundaram explores the concept of Mahadasha and its sub-periods, known as Antardasha or Bhukti, shedding light on how the Mahadasha lord remains active throughout these sub-periods, and the manifestation of results occurs only when the lordship remains unchanged within a given sub-period.

Samesh Geppi (also known fondly as Sadasiva) provides an explanation regarding the astrological categorization of the United States of America as a Scorpio nation rather than Sagittarius. Geppi delves into the rationale behind Sibley's 5:10 PM Chart being deemed the most reliable birth time for the USA when referenced against the Nakshatras and Dasa.

The universal laws of Karma operate as a powerful equalizer. In the domain of predictive astrology, Bibhuti Bhushan Pani undertakes a comprehensive analysis of nine distinct charts to elucidate the connection between thyroid gland disorders and a karmic imprint of using harsh language in past lives. Pani proceeds to offer a remedy for this affliction through the worship of Neela Kantha Shiva, as recommended by Jamini Maharishi, or by invoking Lord Vishnu, the Karaka (significator) of the 11th house, through the practice of Maha mantra Japa, which entails chanting the sacred name of Lord Vishnu. We are sure this will be a interesting read for you.

As usual, we present the monthly features encompassing forecasts tailored to your Moon sign, an Ephemeris providing celestial position data, and a comprehensive Calendar for the month of June. Decoding Auspicious, Inauspicious and Aprakasha Grahas

by Raman Suprajarama

May 2023 cover page of The Astrological eMagazine

Welcome to the May 2023 issue of The Astrological eMagazine! As we enter the second quarter of the year, the planets continue to bring about exciting and transformative energies. From the powerful conjunctions, alignments, eclipses and more, there is much to explore and plan.

Our beloved chief editor, Niranjan Babu Bangalore, discusses insights on residential homes from the Mayamata, an architectural treatise in Vastu Shastra. The Varnashrama system and different types of homes based on an individual's nature of work are described. The article highlights the recommended dimensions, shapes, heights, and thickness of walls for different Varnas. It emphasizes the importance of a well-organized division of labour in society and the significance of the design of a house in ensuring the occupants' peaceful and prosperous life. Finally, the placement of doors and moats is discussed as part of the recommended design.

In his cover story, Raman Suprajarama interprets Parashara's teachings of the Auspicious, Inauspicious, and Aprakasha Grahas. Planetary positions can determine if they are auspicious or inauspicious and their interaction with other planets can result in positive or negative outcomes. A planet's character can exhibit both auspicious and inauspicious qualities depending on its position in the zodiac. Additionally, Parashara introduces the concept of Aprakasha grahas, non-luminous celestial objects, whose association with the Sun, Moon, or Lagna can lead to problems. However, it is important to note that Aprakasha grahas are the source of the problem, not the indicator of the problem. To learn more about whether these issues always occur or only during certain periods, read on.

Dr. Nemani Venkata Raghunatha Rao shares his wisdom on principles of metamorphosis and how to analyse spiritual transformation in astrology. He says that the focus is on the third house, which indicates action/initiative, and whether the native can alter or enhance their karma. The fourth house indicates from where one is performing karma, while the 10th house indicates karma balance. Saturn's aspect on the 3rd, 4th, and 10th houses, along with Moon and Lagna, are important indicators for determining one's abilities to alter karma and their spiritual transformation or progression. The article discusses the stages/categories of human beings and Chakras, which can be considered to determine how an individual is associated with metamorphosis. He uses the example of Ramakrishna Paramahamsa's birth chart to demonstrate how the principles discussed reveal the secrets of spiritual transformation through astrology.

This month’s column, Dr. Archna Murthy discusses the concept of "Rishi Runam" or the debt we owe to the sages who have passed down the knowledge of Vedic Astrology to us. She focuses on the 18 pioneers or "Pravarthakas" who were instrumental in initiating and inspiring people to follow Jyotisha.

The above two verses from Kaashyapa Samhitha mentions 18 Pravarthakas (Pioneers) - Surya, Brahma, Vashishta, Atri, Parashara, Kashyapa, Narada, Garga, Mareechi, Manu, Angira, Lomasa, Paulisha, Chyavana, Yavana, Bhrigu, Shaunaka, and Ashtavakra

The column highlights the contributions of some of the Pravarthakas, including Lord Surya who gave knowledge to Maya Asura, who wrote Surya Sidhantha, which is one of the oldest and highly advanced texts on Astronomy known to mankind. The essay also mentions Brahma Sidhantha, an extracted knowledge from Vedas by Lord Brahma, and the contributions of Vashishta Maha Rishi and other Pravarthakas to Vedic Astrology.

Kartheek Darbha and Sravana Krishna Kandalam detail the research findings performed on celestial transits and their implications on economic disasters and crises. The research focuses on Mercury transit and its role in economic crises. The research draws from historical instances and references the Brihat Samhita to predict future occurrences. The research covers various topics, including the seven courses of Mercury, Mercury's role, and its deformed motion in relation to economic crises. The categorization of events includes famine, global energy crises, inflation, currency crises, and disasters. The essay concludes with a summary of observations from 1914 to the 2020s, highlighting significant events like World War II, the Bengal Famine, and the Wall Street Crash of 1929. The Saturn-Rohini conjunction and Mercury's retrograde motion are key factors affecting the real world's economy.

As Jupiter, the grandest planet in our celestial sphere, ventures into the fiery Aries, a transformative shift takes hold above and below. While stargazers observe in wonder, the astrologer's mind is attuned to the remarkable possibilities or fateful outcomes that Jupiter may impart on the world and individual souls. Jupiter, a beacon of brilliance, emanates regal bearing, serene composure, pure virtue, and scientific aptitude. As penned in Jataka Parijata Chapter 2, Sloka 57, Jupiter's intellect is exceptional, and it embodies all that is virtuous, pure, and learned. On April 21, 2023, at 9 pm EDT, Jupiter begins its journey in sidereal Aries, and until May 1, 2024, at 5 am EDT, it will reside in this sign before transitioning to Taurus. Lalitha Donatella Riback eloquently expounds on Jupiter's placement in Aries and the Nakshatras' influence on all the 12 Moon signs. To unveil how this transit will shape your destiny, journey on.

As usual, we present the monthly features encompassing forecasts tailored to your Moon sign, an Ephemeris providing celestial position data, and a comprehensive Calendar for the month of June. We encourage you to share your thoughts and suggestions with us at info@astrologicalmagazine.com, as we deeply appreciate and value your input and feedback.
